Abstract
Materialized views are
reliable working horses but always a bit stale (refresh on demand) or a bit
intrusive (refresh on commit). Can the "just in time" concept of
query cache invalidation be useful here?
After an elementary introduction
of the query cache mechanisms a case study about the use of Database Change
Notification to control refresh of materialized views is presented.
